Build Sprint rules

Clear expectations for the week. This is a handbook, not legal terms.

Day 0 is required (Sun 2 Aug)

Day 0 is Sunday, 2 Aug 2026. If intro, Discord join, and check-in setup are not completed that day, the seat is released.

Commitment

Required
  • Plan for about 2-3 focused hours per day, Monday to Sunday (Europe/Dublin).
  • Attend Demo Day on Sunday, 9 Aug 2026. That is part of the deal.
  • If you cannot commit the week, do not request a seat.

Day 0 setup

Required
  • Complete intro, join Discord, and finish check-in setup on Day 0 (Sunday, 2 Aug 2026).
  • Incomplete Day 0 releases your seat so someone else can take it.

Daily check-ins

Required
  • Use ShipStreak for daily check-ins during the sprint.
  • One month of ShipStreak is included for confirmed participants.
  • Post once by the end of your local calendar day. You do not need to be online at Dublin noon.
  • ShipStreak rules apply on the platform: one grace day if you miss an update there; miss two and you're out.
  • For Build Sprint itself there is no pausing the streak. Seven days is short. Ship every day.

Definition of shipped

Required
  • By Demo Day you need a public URL with a full app flow.
  • Leave with a real finished product. Not a mock. Not a plan.

Demo Day

Required
  • Demo Day is for the group. Present what you shipped in a short demo.
  • With your consent, demos may be recorded and showcased.

Teams

Expected
  • Small teams are welcome. One seat request per team is enough.
  • Everyone on the team still does daily ShipStreak check-ins.

Respectful behaviour

Expected
  • Be useful, direct, and kind. No harassment, baiting, or pile-ons.
  • Critique the work, not the person. No guru theatre.

No spam

Required
  • No unsolicited pitches, affiliate spam, or mass DMs to the group.
  • Share your project in the channels meant for it.

No reselling

Required
  • Do not resell Build Sprint access, the toolkit, or included software seats.
  • Participant access is personal.

ShipSafe and watermarks

Required
  • Greenfield projects must use ShipSafe and keep the Built with ShipSafe badge.
  • Existing WIP must either use ShipSafe with that badge, or keep its stack and add a Built During KLJr Sprint watermark that links to https://kljr.website.
  • This is how the free seat stays honest: you ship, and the tools stay visible.

Tool usage

Required
  • ShipStreak check-ins are required. ShipSafe rules above are required.
  • The rest of the toolkit (prompts, guides, MakerWall) is there to reduce overthinking.
  • See the toolkit page for what you receive.

Discord

Required
  • Discord opens on Day 0 with the onboarding email.
  • Keep channels on-topic. No invite farming.

If you disappear

Expected
  • Seven days is short. Do not plan to pause mid-sprint.
  • Silent no-shows after Day 0, or two missed ShipStreak updates after the grace day, mean the seat is gone.

After Demo Day

Expected
  • You leave with the product you shipped. Optional showcase permission may be asked.
  • If Sprint #1 works, Sprint #2 may follow. No ongoing homework club in between.
